Maintenance Supervisor

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Supervisor to join us in Peterborough.  In return we offer a competitive salary of £20,000 to £24,000 (depending on experience)  and 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.

The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out a wide range of duties working primarily alone on core building duties but also to work with other trades performing multi-skilled tasks when required
  • Providing supervision, training, instruction and leadership to staff within the department. This will also involve one to one meetings and evaluation of performance of each team member and any new staff recruited
  • Undertaking work appropriate to the specialist trade (carpentry or plumbing) and provide a supervisory lead to other in the team in general building and plant maintenance

The Maintenance Supervisor’s role will involve:

  • Working across all trades as necessary, actively taking on board new skills, participation in training and identifying training needs of others to improve efficiency and flexibility within the maintenance department
  • Investigating and repair structural and component faults in the various building of the Cresset and YMCA and be innovative and proactive in dealing with problems as they arise
  • Ensuring compliance with all aspects of Health & Safety
  • Responsible for providing and arranging quality dedicated maintenance in and out of hours
  • Participating, supporting and contributing to special or major projects as required

The successful Maintenance Supervisor will:

  • Have completed a recognised and registered CITB, EITB or C & G apprenticeship or equivalent knowledge
  • Considerable previous experience in building maintenance and associated trades in a supervisory or foreman capacity
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence (required to transport self, tools and equipment between sites as and when required)

The hours of work are 40 per week, Monday to Friday with participation in the callout rota.

Senior Sessional Trainers – Health & Well-being

Location: Various – Northants, Cambs, Peterborough, Suffolk

 

Brief Overview

We are looking for experienced trainers/mental health professionals to join our team of Senior Sessional Trainers to deliver our Training Prospectus for Teachers and also Internal Staff Training. It will involve equipping delegates with the tools to deliver one or more the following: Mental Health training for other staff; Building resilience programmes for students; parent or student awareness workshop; family work & mentoring; Student Well-being qualifications

 

You will assist in the monitoring of exciting training sessions that will accommodate all learning styles and deliver pre-written training as and when required on a sessional or self employed basis. Training Sessions tend to be 6hrs per day with some programmes lasting multiple days.

 

You should have the following qualities:

  • Previous experience of working with young people and delivering         mental health services
  • A relevant qualification (ideally a L4 in Counselling/Therapy)
  • Sound knowledge of mental health related research/tools
  • A Trainer qualification (PTTLS, AiE or QTS)
  • Experience of delivering training or presentation to adults and young people
  • Be able to deliver at least two of the core programmes mentioned above
  • Be able to travel independently
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continued CPD

Sessional Trainers – Health & Well-being

We are looking for people to join our team of Sessional Trainers who provide teachers, staff, parents and students with Health & Wellbeing training or presentations.

 

You will assist in the monitoring of exciting training sessions that will accommodate all learning styles and deliver pre-written training as and when required on a sessional or self employed basis. Training Sessions tend to be 2hrs each held during the school day or after-school.

 

You should have the following qualities:

  • Previous experience of working with young people and delivering         mental health services
  • A relevant qualification (ideally a L4 in Counselling/Therapy)
  • Experience of delivering training or presentation to adults and young people
  • Be able to deliver at least two of the core subjects which include; Mental Health Awareness, Anxiety & Depression, Self Harm, Building Resilience, Substance Misuse, Risk Taking Behaviour, Body Image, Sexual Health
  • Be able to travel independently
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continued CPD

Intervention Worker

We are looking for Interventions Workers to join our team delivering our Menu of Services to schools.  You will:

  • Deliver programmes of semi-structured intervention that meet the needs of children and young people aged 5-16 displaying early signs of mental health issues, which may be carried out on an individual or group basis within primary or secondary schools
  • Carry out assessments of need and suitability, as well as assessment of progress and impact on each child involved
  • Option to also engage in delivery of accredited health and fitness qualifications

You will need:

  • Experience of working with children and young people
  • An awareness of the needs of children, parents / carers and schools
  • Able to develop, deliver and evaluate group work and individual programmes with children
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to enable effective working with children, parents/carers, school teachers / support staff and workers from other agencies
  • Self motivated with a good dispositions with the ability to listen and empathise with children and parents/carers who may be experiencing difficulty in their lives
  • Flexible approach to work and ability to travel as necessary
  • Knowledge of health and well-being needs would be advantageous
  • For those wishing to deliver our health and fitness qualifications, an Award in Education certificate would be needed or a commitment to work towards it.

Hours:                   As and when required on a sessional basis
Hourly rate :       £10.64 plus travel expenses

YMCA Primary Therapists/ Secondary Counsellors

Location: Various schools – Cambs, Peterborough, Fenland, Lincs, Northants, Norfolk, Suffolk (within 25mile radius from your location)

Brief Overview
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity in your Counselling Career? Looking for an organisation who can offer great benefits and regular work during the school day?  The YMCA Menu of Services offer 1:1 therapy to children and young people aged between 5 & 18 in Cambridgeshire & Peterborough.  We provide therapeutic interventions for children and young people who have social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.  Due to demand, we are now looking to expand the service across neighbouring areas, and require more therapists to cover both existing and new clients.

You should have the following qualities:

  • Previous experience of working with children
  • Have a minimum of:- Certificate in Therapeutic Play, or had some training in play therapy alongside a L4 in Counselling (Primary School work); or have a L4 in Child & Adolescent Therapeutic Counselling (Secondary school work) or equivalent
  • Be registered with PTUK, BAPT, BACP or equivalent having obtained a minimum of 120 hours of clinical experience
  • Be able to travel
  • Be able to work on a self employed basis during the day for one or more days a week for the duration of each school contract
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continued CPD (minimum of 30 hours pa)
